About the exhibition:
The August '91. People in the square exhibition was organized to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the August coup. It is the largest exhibition on the subject in Russia outside of Moscow.

The source of inspiration for the exhibits' formation were numerous accidental shapes of barricades that were haphazardly put up in August of 1991.

Metal grating, screens, concrete blocks were all used as impromptu defense constructions.
